Handmade First Nations Talking Stick
Many years ago I was privileged to have someone very close to me that was first Nations they not only taught me about Talking sticks but also about their purpose. I hold this tradition close to my heart and respect it greatly. An Indigenous talking stick is a traditional communication and consensus-building tool used in many First Nations, particularly among Northwest Coast cultures.
Each Talking Stick is unique - no two are ever the same. Some have Woodburned patterns and designs that come to my heart while listening to the great spirit, others are done by nature - wormwood with interesting and intricate designs that I highlight on the natural piece of wood, and each piece has a it's only unique piece of art. The combination of beads on this one uses a mix of yellow, blue, and white, with a few red and orange beads, two shells, turquoise stone at the end of the beading, as well as a brass eagle whistle at the end of a strand. At the top is a piece of crystal that offers protection to those that use this Talking Stick.
A Talking Stick is used to improve communication. Whoever holds the Talking Stick has within their hands the sacred power of words. Only the person holding the Talking Stick is permitted to speak, well everyone else must listen until it is their turn with the Talking Stick.
There are some sacred rules that go with using a Talking Stick.
1. The Power of Truth about your feelings, understandings, and experiences.
2. The respect of openly listening to the one who hold the stick.
3. The belief in speaking truth when you hold the stick.
4. The belief in understanding truth when you listen openly and with your heart.
The passing of the talking stick—often in a circle—ensures a peaceful, democratic way to make decisions, resolve disputes, or share stories without interruption.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship internationally but you must pay shipping charges. Just message me with your information and I will get you an air rate. We do not ship ground.

We package so that your item makes its journey safely whether traveling 50 miles or 5000 miles. We use proper packing supplies and strong boxes.
